Duo Beaudry-Prud’homme - Songs in Blacks and Whites

The richness of words, the beauty of the piano!

The talented singer Simon Beaudry and the virtuoso pianist Philippe Prud'homme have joined forces to present a new concept in Quebec : the album and show "Songs in Blacks and Whites," which merges traditional songs and classical music in concert.

The Beaudry-Prud'homme duo has taken on the challenge of creating a bridge between these two musical genres while maintaining the integrity of each style. These works are also characterized by the great poetry of the texts.

This concert presents folk songs with piano arrangements by classical composers such as Benjamin Britten and Émile Vuillermoz. Philippe Prud'homme has very elegantly arranged traditional Quebec songs. The Duo also features beautiful songs by singer-songwriters (Gilles Vigneault, Léo Ferré, Jean-Claude Mirandette and Jean-Roger Caussimon) as well as two instrumental pieces (reels).

Of course, lovers of both contemporary classical and traditional music will be delighted, and so will lovers of words. The Duo invites the audience to discover little-known treasures in songs by Gilles Vigneault and Léo Ferré.
