Trio Débonnaire / From Haendel to The Beatles

Discovery in a brassy sauce…

From the baroque to Janis Joplin, from Beethoven to The Beatles, the pieces performed by the Débonnaire brass trio is very bold. Their trumpets, French horn and trombone will reverberate through the Saint-François-Xavier concert hall.

The words that best sum up this group are certainly "collaboration," "variety" and "communication."  As their concerts show, their repertoire is varied, with music from the renaissance to today, and a chemistry that unites the three virtuosos allows them to share their passion for music and for their brass instruments with their audiences.

From their first appearance in March 2012, the Trio Débonnaire has performed across Quebec, all the way to Vauvert at Lac-Saint-Jean. All very active, the three musicians are also members of the Ensemble Magnitude6 brass quintet and take part in concerts with great orchestras, including the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.

On stage, Mr. Demers promises several discoveries. "I love the feeling of different kinds of trumpets and surprising the spectators with them." He plans to perform this feat on four different instruments during the evening, including a standard trumpet, a natural trumpet used by bands in the 17th century, a piston cornet and a piccolo trumpet, the smallest member of the family.
