Carlos Placeres

Vida para amar (A life for loving)

                                                          …To vibrate and dance!

Carlos Placeres will be accompanied by Yoel Diaz, Mathieu Gaulin, Diomer Gonzalez, Pierre-Luc Labelle, Juan Carlos Abad, Isabelle Choquette, Jonathan Maldonado

Winner of a Latinos Awards Canada prize in 2016 and a Félix award in 2010, Carlos Placeres is uncontestably the reference for Cuban music in Quebec. Author, composer and performer for 30 years, he played representing Quebec at the Olympic Games in Vancouver in 2010 and has opened for the most important Cuban performers.

Quebec viewers have no doubt heard his music when watching the series Omertá, la loi du silence, for which he composed the musical score with ex-member of Uzeb Michel Cusson. Placeres was also audience choice as best artist on the music show Belle et Bum.

He is presenting us with his newest show, Vida para amar. This multi-talented artist will make us vibrate through songs drawn from his three previously released albums as well as his fourth that is currently in production. Through these pieces, Carlos shares his passion for Cuban music as well as his philosophy of life. "Where there is love there is life (Ghandi)," sums up the lyrics of his songs. Add to this the rhythms such as rumba, conga, timba, salsa-fusion, chachacha-funk, and bolero that make Cuban music one of the richest in the world … and we get a charming and colourful show!
